Mega day yesterday at the Lurig Run. No matter how high our expectations are, it always exceeds them. There’s just nothing else like it!
As a club our results were fantastic, with Naomi McCurry taking another win 🏆 in 36:17 and Niamh Marrs🥈in 37:35 and Sam McNeilly of Newcastle Athletic Club completing the podium. Our ladies took the team prize with Kelly-Ann McAuley and Marie Kerr making up the quartet!
Our men also took the team prize with John Marrs, Lee O’Boyle, Dom McLarnon and Kieran Graham all running really well and finishing within a couple of minutes of each other.
A big congratulations to City of Derry Spartans Allan Bogle who rolled back the years to take the win in the men’s race in 30:34 closely followed by Josh McAtee 30:36 from Mourne Runners and Philip Goss of North Belfast Harriers in 31:03.
The Glens Runners had forty-five runners on the start line for our home race with many more helping to organise the event, marshal, make food for the afters and chronicle the day. A lot of work goes into making the Lurig Run a success and we send our thanks to everyone who made it happen 🫶🏻
