What a weekend in the Italian Dolomites for the World Masters Mountain Running Championships! The event ran from August 29–31 and served up three tough races: uphill only, long distance, and the classic mountain challenge.
Flying the flag for Glens Runners and Ireland M50 was our very own Tim Lowry 👏
The action kicked off Friday with a savage 5 km uphill climb (800m of elevation packed in!). Not exactly Tim’s favourite style of racing, but he toughed it out under the hot Dolomite sun and got the job done 💪☀️
Fast forward to Sunday and it was time for the Classic Race — 15.3 km with that same huge climb, followed by a fast and technical descent into Meduno. Tim absolutely smashed it, pulling out his best run of the year and finishing as second counter for the Irish team. His strong performance helped secure a team bronze medal 🥉🇮🇪
A brilliant weekend of racing, and a huge achievement for Tim — representing both club and country at world level! 🌍🏃♂️
Massive congratulations Tim🎉
